The Festival of Ridvan

Categories: Diversity & Inclusion

Riḍván starts today! Riḍván رضوان‎ is a twelve-day festival, in the Baháʼí Faith, commemorating Baháʼu'lláh's declaration. It is the holiest Baháʼí festival and is also referred to as the "Most Great Festival" and the "King of Festivals."

The Ridván period is also the time when Baháʼí elections for the local and national Spiritual Assemblies take place every year, as well as the election of the Universal House of Justice, every five years.

Today, the festival of Ridvan is the most joyous of Baha'i holy days. In villages, towns, and cities around the world, Baha'i communities celebrate these special days with gatherings open to all.
