Happy Tu B'Shevat (ט״ו בשבט)

Categories: Diversity & Inclusion

Each year on Tu B'Shevat Israelis and Jews across the globe plant trees to celebrate a "New Year for Trees." This year, for the first time the festival of Tu B’Shevat and observances for International Holocaust Remembrance Day happen to take place on the same day.

In memory of a lost loved one, family and friends often make a donation to the Jewish National Fund to plant a tree in Israel honoring the deceased. This year, many commemorate Tu B'Shevat and Holocaust Remembrance Day to ensure that those who lost their lives did not die in vain and grow trees as both a lasting tribute and as a commitment to never forget.
